Picture Sunday

I arrived home early this AM from the Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis, which is really a great place to see a show, as you get reserved tables so you can not only be guarateed a decent spot to see the stage, you can sit the entire time. Boy, am I getting old -- the idea of standing through a show or even waiting on line has lost its appeal.

The show was of course, one Mr. G.M. Tilbrook. Here's how the whole show felt by the time I got home:

The show was typically good, although he had been getting a cold, so the top of his range would just cut out. He made us do a bunch of the singing. Hey! That's cheating, I want my money back! As another sign of age, after the show, we discussed the relative merits of echinacea, zinc lozenges and Sudafed, and that feeling of standing on a stage getting ready to sing and the high end of one's register simply isn't there. (That is the last week of every choir trip I've taken.) Next we'll be talking about our lower back pains and those damn noisy kids.

Here's a delightfully sheepish looking Glenn after the show, along with two random tarts who got in the way of the camera :-)

A good time was had by all, and I finally got to meet the rampantly insane Gary and Carolyn, who had just decided to pop into the car and drive down from CANADA to catch the show. Down on Saturday, up on Sunday. I don't remember that level of devotion, but in the depths of my memory, I suspect there is a time in my life where I would have done that. I did once threaten Thai airline personnel in order to get to a Glenn show in London, (they wanted to bump me 24 hours! The nerve!) so maybe I am that nuts. Very nice people.

As yet another sign of age, although I've already had a pot of coffee, I desperately need another one in order to deal with the late night -- I haven't gotten home at 3 am in a very, very long time. And of course, the phone rang this AM. I know I spoke with the person on the other end, but because I was fast asleep, I have no idea what I said, as although my mouth goes (when does it not?), my brain does not kick in for about six minutes, by which time the call had ended. I hope I didn't commit to anything particularly stupid in that call. Or maybe I hope I did. It's been that kind of week, and one should always do something silly in the spring.
